Eggs. Bacon, not US bacon, full bodied, happy sounding people enjoying, Irish bacon. Yeah. There was happiness in the morning.

After a long night of flying we arrived at dawn in Dublin. Of course, could not sleep on the plane, even when it was too dark to see much of anything. As the dawn arrived, we were almost at our destination. I was Sooooooooo excited.
After getting off the plane we had to go through the customs. There were two lines, those who were coming from someplace far, far away – ok those who were not Irish or EU and the rest. But I guess because it was way early in the morning, the line seemed to only consist of people we had seen on the plane with us. It didn’t take very long at all to go through.
Then we had to walk, and walk to get to the place where the shuttle bus to our hotel would pick us up. We were very ready to see it arrive. But oh the fun. We were the only ones on the bus, but ended up making a side trip because another one had broken down on the way to the airport so our bus went to the rescue.
By the time we got to the hotel the sun was definitely up!
We had booked Bewley’s Hotel – Dublin on recommendation of our family in Ireland. Very much appreciated. Food was good. Rooms were nice and the view was nice too. We would come back there anytime!

It was a long flight, but so exciting! We started mid afternoon from Chicago, Illinois flying over Lake Michigan and the state of Michigan
The weather was clear to start so I could look out and see the ground way down below. It was fun to try to see if I could match what the map had with what I saw.
As we moved over Canada the clouds were starting to block some of the ground below, but it was still possible to see and sometimes I was able to match what was on the map with what was below.
We were heading east and the sun was getting lower and lower and the world outside was getting darker and darker. Pretty soon there were lights peeking between the clouds, but it was hard to really determine where we were. And then we were over the ocean and it was dark, very dark and I couldn’t see anything. I was too excited to sleep.
The sun didn’t rise until after we had landed on the ground. Wow! I am really here!
